Duct Detectors

The D282A-DH Replacement Duct Smoke Detector Head detects the large smoke particles that typically result from wood, paper, and fabric combustion. It is a conventional 24 VDC photoelectric smoke detector head for use with the D300A and D300A-HV conventional duct detector housing units. It uses an infrared LED light source and a silicon photo diode to measure light reflected from particles in a detection chamber. After two consecutive measurements exceeding the threshold level, the unit signals an alarm condition. The detection chamber, designed for reliable smoke entry, is protected by a micro-fine insect screen to minimize nuisance alarms. The sensitivity stability and high signal-to-noise ratio of this detector permits its use in a wide range of environmental conditions. It has a moisture proof reed switch that reacts to an external magnet for testing, simulating a 4% to 6% smoke obscuration, which places the detector in an alarm condition. This test is especially useful in environmentally unstable or clean areas. Built-in LEDs flash to indicate the unit is powered and when displayed steadily, indicate an alarm condition.

D282A-DH Replacement Duct Smoke Detector Head (24 VDC)

  • 24 VDC replacement detector head for D300A and D300A HV Conventional Duct Detector Housings
  • Easy head removal for cleaning and servicing
  • Flashing LED power on indicator

The D340, 341, and 342 Series Duct Smoke Detector Housings mount on the ducts of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems to monitor the presence of smoke in the conditioned air. The D340 housing works with the D285DH Photoelectric Duct Smoke Detector Head. Models D341 and D342 housings work with all 24 VDC or VAC or 120 VAC, UL Listed four-wire control panels. The efficient housing design samples the air passing through a duct and detects potentially hazardous conditions. When smoke is detected, the units sends an alarm signal to the control panel or HVAC control equipment that initiates the action necessary to control air handling systems.

D340 Series Two-wire and D341 and D342 Series Four-wire Duct Smoke Detector Housings

  • For 1 ft (30.5 cm) to 10 ft (3 m) ducts with air velocity between 300 ft/min to 4000 ft/min (1.52
  • m/s to 20.3 m/s)
  • Easy duct tube installation through the housing cuts installation time
  • Detector test and reset without removing covers
  • Clear cover allows quick visual inspection

The D286DH Ionization Duct Smoke Detector is designed for use with commercial fire protective signaling systems and household fire warning systems (see NFPA 72, The National Fire Alarm Code). When properly installed using the Duct Series Detector, tamper protection is provided by in/out wiring of the positive power line, causing the control to initiate a trouble signal when a detector is removed from its base. Supervision of 2-wire systems is provided by the master control, and 4-wire system supervision is provided by an End-of-Line resistor as specified by the control manufacturer

  • Compatible with D340, D341, D342
  • UL Listed

The D7050DH Multiplex Photoelectric Duct Smoke Detector  is designed for use with the D7024 FACP, a D7039 Multiplex Expansion Module, and requires a D343 Duct detector housing. The LED indicator on the head flashes every 3 to 8 seconds to verify that the detector has power and that the smoke sampling circuitry is functioning. The LED flashes at least once per second in the event of an alarm, allowing the user easy verification of individual detector alarms. The detector automatically resets after the alarm condition has been cleared.
