Mirasys SDK

As threats to people and property increase, efficient security systems are becoming even more important. This may require an investment in new equipment and additional operating costs. Security systems users not only compare the technical performance of various solutions, they also want to minimize the total cost of ownership.

Rather than implementing several separate security systems, users want less complex, more efficient products that combine the functionalities of several subsystems, thus increasing the security level and decreasing costs.

System Integration as a Booster in Security Business
Systems like access control, intruder, and fire alarm or perimeter protection alone deliver a lot of information. However, they all lack the option of easy visual verification of reported events and alarms. A seamless integration with digital surveillance provides exceptional added value through real-time communication, mutual control, shared databases, and common user interfaces between the subsystems.

System integration is not limited to security technology. Digital surveillance brings significant advantages to other systems, like point of sales, building automation, storage control, and process control.

Mirasys SDK - a Platform for Integration
The Mirasys Integration SDK (Software Development Kit) enables user-written application programs to control, communicate, and exchange data with DINA DVR servers over an IP addressable network.
Mirasys SDK allows for third party integration to this powerful video, audio, and data management software.

The core of the SDK is an Application Programming Interface (API), which consists of program libraries and functions that provide comprehensive functionalities for triggering alarms in the DVR and for retrieving video to the integrated system from the DVR Servers. This makes it possible to create common interface applications or to add video functionality to the user interface of the other application.

In addition to the integration API, Mirasys SDK also includes documentation describing the functions, ActiveX, and Java Bean components, as well as sample source code and executables.

Triggering of Surveillance Alarm Events
The integrated application can trigger alarm events in any Mirasys DINA DVR Server in the network. The integrated application initiates a range of actions, including recording, dome camera control, signaling I/O, controlling external video monitors, and sending notifications and video material to other DVR clients, to the integrated application, or to a third system.

Event Notification
The integrated application subscribes notifications about any
type of alarm event occurring at a DVR Server, for example,
to inform the integrated application that the DVR Server has
detected motion with a certain camera. A notification can also
be activated through changes in the configuration or changes
in the recording status of a DVR Server.

Video Retrieval and Camera Control
Mirasys SDK enables the retrieval of real-time or recorded video images and sequences from a DVR Server to the user interface of the integrated application. It also provides the integrated application dome camera positioning functions.

Benefits of System Integration
System Integration offers a higher security level and significant cost-saving benefits:

  • Centralized system management and control
  • Minimized redundant systems
  • Ease of use
  • Faster learning curve
  • Higher motivation of operators

Security system manufacturers and integrators, as well as security service providers, also benefit from system integration, as it allows them to offer more competitive products and expand their business opportunities.
