Mirasys SDK- Point of Sales Integration
Retail environments - from small shops to large supermarkets and department stores - experience dozens of situations every day where visual evidence of cash register events would help resolve or eliminate most problems. This is not limited only to crimes, such as robberies, credit card fraud, or shoplifting, but also helps with customer complaints or incorrect change claims. Video recording also increases staff safety and provides a higher level of overall confidence.
Visual Verification of POS Transactions Mirasys Ltd. has a solution that helps solve crimes and settle minor disputes - a system-level integration of digital video surveillance and point of sales systems. In this configuration, the POS system interacts with Mirasys DINA DVMS through a LAN connection so that suspicious, abnormal, or threatening events trigger alarms in the DVR.
All cash register actions, not just the receipt information, are stored synchronously with the video footage and show events taking place at the register. This allows for quick and easy reviewing of deviant material; all actions taken by the cashier are seen together and synchronized with the video material of events taking place at the register.
Flexible Alarm Configuration A number of events that trigger alarms are predefined in the system. A cashier can enter specific key sequences that indicate a threatening situation and the system will respond if a customer tries try to pay with a stolen credit card. When the POS system recognizes an alarm-triggering event, the DVR records the action using enhanced image quality and image frequency, saved in a separate alarm file.
The pre-recording option that Mirasys DINA provides ensures that the whole event is recorded, even if the alarm-triggering event takes place only when the customer is leaving the register. Should further investigation be needed, footage from several cameras covering the incident can be exported to external media or reviewed in simultaneous playback on the screen.
